Opening an Innovative Space for Learning and Development
The Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Humanities of NUVHP has launched a training laboratory for historical source studies — a unique space that combines education, science, and creativity.
It is not just an auditorium — it is an innovative space where higher education students learn, research, create, and feel the spirit of Ukrainian history.
One part of the laboratory is specially equipped for the educational process — lectures, practical classes, master classes, and scientific meetings take place here.
The other part is an atmosphere of Ukrainian everyday life and traditions, created by the joint efforts of students and teachers. Here you can see towels from different regions of Ukraine, elements of ancient clothing, household items, a wooden chest, and tools for crafts. This is the living memory of our ancestors that we respect and continue to recreate.
The laboratory regularly holds master classes in folk crafts:
– making a Ukrainian wreath;
– weaving a didukh;
– creating women's necklaces;
– knitting a headscarf, etc.
At the same time, this space has a scientific research component: in collaboration with the Independent Center for Forensic Expertises, students participate in conducting historical expert evaluations of documents, coins, artifacts — from ancient manuscripts to items of material culture.
Particular attention is drawn to the museum area of the laboratory, where the following are collected:
– family historical documents,
– private collections of coins, arrowheads, maces, axes,
– historical literature,
– unique exhibits that preserve the spirit of the eras.
Here students can even try their hand as masters of the past — repairing or assembling a weaving loom, feeling how our ancestors lived and worked.
The laboratory of historical source studies is a place where education and inspiration, science and creativity, past and present are combined.
It is here that a new generation of youth is formed, who honor Ukrainian traditions and transform them into a source of their own professional development.
