Inventor and Innovator Day
Inventor and Rationalizer Day is celebrated in Ukraine on the third Saturday of September. This year, as usual, the university summarized the results of the Competition in the field of innovative activities for scientific and pedagogical workers and departments of the university for the holiday. The winners of the competition were chosen in two nominations: "Best Department" and "Best Inventor."
From September 2024 to August 2025, the university submitted 32 applications for utility models to the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations. The university received 40 patents for utility models. For the first time, the university carried out technology transfer, namely a contract for the transfer of rights to a utility model patent was concluded. Researchers prepared 26 student startup teams to participate in startup competitions.
The winners in the "Best Department" nomination are:
- the Department of Construction, Road and Melioration Machines (first place);
- the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, and Machine Science (second place);
- the Department of Water Engineering and Water Technologies, the Department of Automobiles and Automotive Economy, the Department of Agroengineering (third place).
The main directions of patented developments are:
- Machine Engineering, Agricultural Machinery Equipment, Wind Energy, Automobiles, Agroengineering. In this area, active inventive activities are carried out by researchers: Naumenko Y.V., Serilko D.L., Serilko L.S., Sasyuk Z.K., Stadnik O.S., Marchuk R.M., Lukyanchuk O.P., Holotyuk M.V., Bundza O.Z., Shymko A.V. and others.
- Water Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering. In this area, active inventive activities are carried out by researchers: Turchenyuk V.O., Rokochynskyi A.M., Pryhodko N.V., Volk P.P., Huryn V.A., Romanyuk I.V., Pinchuk O.L. and others.
In the "Best Inventor" nomination, the winner is Naumenko Yuriy Vasilyovych, professor of the Department of Construction, Road and Melioration Machines. The inventor submitted 12 applications for utility models and received 14 patents for utility models.
Active inventive work was noted by Huryn Vasyl Arsentiyovych, professor of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Hydraulics. Lukyanchuk Oleksandr Petrovych, associate professor of the Department of Construction, Road and Melioration Machines, Serilko Dmytro Leonidovych, associate professor of the Department of Construction, Road and Melioration Machines, Sasyuk Zoya Kostyantynivna, associate professor of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, and Machine Science, Nesterchuk Nataliya Yevheniivna, head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy. Researchers prepared applications for utility models, for which patents were obtained and involved students as co-authors in the applications. Thanks to their mentorship, student startup teams became finalists and winners of startup competitions - the Technical Hackathon from PJSC "MHP", the All-Ukrainian Innovation Festival, and the university's startup competition Cool Idea.
