Third-year student of the NIKITI Institute of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering Irina Nikitchuk represented Ukraine with dignity at the European Championship under 20, held in the capital of Spain - Madrid.
In the group stage, Irina's team faced Poland, Croatia, and the Netherlands. The Ukrainian team secured two victories - against the Croatians and the second pair from the Netherlands, losing only to the Polish.
In the knockout match against Lithuania, our athletes confidently won, allowing them to progress further in the fight for higher positions. Despite the loss to the first pair from the Netherlands, the girls maintained their chance for a high result. In the final game against the Norwegian national team, Irina and her partner demonstrated character and achieved victory, securing the team an honorable 9th place among the strongest youth teams in Europe.
Irina is in her third year and manages to combine intensive training with pursuing higher education. Her example demonstrates that perseverance, willpower, and love for one's craft pave the way to great victories.
This result has become an important step in Irina Nikitchuk's sports career and a source of pride for the entire university. It is thanks to such students that NUVHP resonates not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.
We wish Irina new sports achievements, confident steps towards professional mastery, and success in her studies!
