On February 19, 2024, an internship for teachers of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Agroecology and Land Management started at the University of Porto as part of the ERASMUS+ AFISHE project "Development of Aquaculture and Fisheries Education for a Green Deal in Armenia and Ukraine: From Education to Ecology."
The internship involves professors from the Department of Aquatic Biological Resources, Yuliya Grokhovska (project manager), Serhiy Konontsev, associate professor from the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technology, Zinaida Budnik, senior lecturers from the Department of Agrochemistry, Soil Science and Agriculture named after S.T. Voznyuk, Alla Kucheroha, and from the Department of Land Management, Cadastre, Land Monitoring, and Geoinformatics, Olha Varzhel.
In the welcoming speech, the Vice-Rector Joana Carvalho and project coordinators Augusto Faustino and Paulo Vaz Pires were present. They noted that one of the project's goals is to create a network between Armenia, Ukraine, and EU partner countries in the field of aquaculture and fishing. This will serve as a platform for implementing joint educational and research activities aimed at promoting the best ecological approaches and measures in these areas in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the EU Green Deal. In the first days of the internship, participants got acquainted with the university and laboratories.
