Second meeting of the AFISHE project in Slovakia
On June 6-7, the second official international meeting of the Erasmus+ AFISHE project "Development of Education in the Field of Aquaculture and Fisheries for the Green Course in Armenia and Ukraine: From Education to Ecology" took place at the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra.
The meeting was attended by representatives from project partners from Armenia, Portugal, Slovakia, Croatia, and Ukraine. The delegation from NUVHP included professors from the Department of Aquatic Biological Resources, Yuliya Grokhovska and Serhiy Konontsev, as well as the head of the grant work sector, Alla Kucherova.
During the meeting, the project manager from NUVHP, Yuliya Grokhovska, presented a report on the work done by our university's working group over the first six months. During the plenary session, activities for the implementation of the work package "Human Resources Development," which is coordinated by the university team, were planned. Together with European partners, the process of organizing training workshops for teachers from Armenia and Ukraine that will take place at universities in Slovakia, Portugal, and Croatia was discussed. As planned in the AFISHE project, the experience gained in EU countries during the workshops will be used by teachers in the educational process for the specialty "Aquatic Biological Resources and Aquaculture."
In addition to the plenary session, the program included an introductory tour of a trout farm where students from the Slovak Agricultural University undergo practical training. A representative from the fishery introduced the international delegation to the main technological processes and facilities used in the intensive breeding of trout. The guests were left with unforgettable impressions from the fish feeding process, as the farm keeps breeding stock fish weighing 7-10 kg for selective breeding work.
The AFISHE team from NUVHP is very grateful to their Slovak colleagues for the warm welcome and hospitality. The support of Ukraine from Slovakia, which our delegation felt during the journey through this wonderful country, is especially touching and inspiring.
