In response to the demands of the time, the labor market of the western region prompted NUVHP to open new economic specialties. In March 2013, with the establishment of the marketing department within the university, the history of developing a new direction for training specialists in marketing began. In the same year, the 6.030507 'Marketing' training direction was licensed, and the first student enrollments were carried out based on the qualification level 'Junior Specialist' with a study duration of 2 years.
In 2020, the educational program 'Marketing' for the specialty 075 'Marketing' of the first (bachelor's) level was accredited. In 2021, the educational program 'Marketing' for the specialty 075 'Marketing' of the second (master's) level was accredited. Over twelve years of operation, the marketing department has developed in scientific and educational-methodical areas as well as in human resources. The department is headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Educator of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine Mariyana Vasyliivna Malchyk.
The marketing department provides educational services for students of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education; second (master's) level of higher education, and for higher education seekers at the 'Doctor of Philosophy' degree, in full-time, part-time, and distance learning formats.
