Educational program "Biotechnology, Biorobotics, and Bioenergy"

The Bachelor's program in "Biotechnology, Biorobotics, and Bioenergetics" was created to meet regional and national needs for a qualified workforce, training our students with biotechnological and robotic experience along with the professional skills necessary to work in the food, pharmaceutical, agricultural industries, and public sectors.
The "Biotechnology, Biorobotics, and Bioenergy" program is an innovative bachelor's program. The curriculum combines advanced interdisciplinary courses in biology, chemistry, robotics, programming, and energy with the development of highly valued business skills essential for dynamic career growth. Graduates are specialists in a wide range of biotechnological fields, programming fundamentals, and robotics. The program is taught by qualified instructors who have experience, knowledge of industry trends, and ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date.

Qualification title:Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

Type of diploma, scope of the educational program, forms of education, and estimated time frames for the implementation of the program:Single, 240 ECTS credits, full-time study, expected duration of the program – 3 years 10 months.

Accreditation status:National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, Certificate No. 13207 (Decision dated May 29, 2025).

Cycle/Level:NQF of Ukraine – Level 6, FQ-EHEA – first cycle, EQF-LLL – Level 6.

Prerequisites:

full general secondary education, degree of "junior bachelor", "vocational junior bachelor" or educational-qualification level "junior specialist";
based on the degree of "Junior Bachelor" (educational and qualification level of "Junior Specialist"), with the possibility to recognize and transfer 120 ECTS credits obtained within the previous educational program for Junior Bachelor (Junior Specialist) training;
based on the degree of "professional junior bachelor" with the possibility of recognizing and transferring 60 ECTS credits obtained from the previous educational program of vocational pre-higher education;
Admission based on complete general secondary education, degrees of "junior bachelor," "vocational junior bachelor," or educational-qualification level of "junior specialist" is carried out based on the results of external independent assessment in the manner defined by legislation.

Goals of the educational program:Preparation of highly qualified, competitive specialists for national and international labor markets to ensure sustainable innovative development of society, capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, through conducting research, project and technological works, and organizational and production activities with an emphasis on ecological biotechnology, bioenergy, and water purification technologies related to the use of biological agents and/or products of their vital activity.

Subject: Biotechnological processes and equipment for the production (acquisition) of biologically active substances and products through biosynthesis and/or biotransformation.
Training goals: to prepare specialists capable of comprehensive project and technological calculations and carrying out production and technological work associated with the use of biological agents and products of their vital activity.
Theoretical content of the subject area. Fundamental and applied scientific foundations of the industrial use of biosynthetic and/or biotransformation potential of living organisms for obtaining practically valuable products.
Methods, techniques, and technologies. The student must master chemical, physicochemical, biochemical, microbiological, molecular biological, and genetic research methods, as well as information and computer technologies.
Tools and equipment: for the analysis of biological agents and their metabolic products, equipment for cultivating biological agents, isolating and purifying target products, automation tools, and systems for automated design of biotechnology productions.

The main focus of the educational programThe program trains highly qualified biotechnology specialists who possess and are able to apply acquired theoretical and practical knowledge to solve complex project-technological and/or scientific tasks in enterprises/institutions, using biological agents, their metabolites, modern automation tools, and are prepared for effective work in a rapidly changing industry.
