General Information

The Department of Water and Building Sciences actively develops international partnerships in the field of education, science, and academic mobility. International activities aim to enhance the quality of the educational process, integrate into the European educational space, participate in academic mobility programs, double degree programs, and implement joint scientific research.

Academic mobility and international activities

We maintain business relations with higher education institutions and organizations in Western and Central Europe, the USA, Asia, and other countries. The university is a member of the International Water Association (IWA), of which Sergey Yurievich Martinov has been a member since 2018. This ensures access to targeted information from the association and its use in the educational process, simplified procedures for reviewing articles for publication in the association's journals (Martinov S.Y. has published 2 articles in Water Supply).

In the fall of 2021, as part of the Fulbright Specialist Program, Prof. V. Tarabara (from the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA) visited the university and gave a lecture for students on membrane technologies in water treatment.

As part of the international project Water Harmony, the university hosted Prof. Harshi Ratnawira (University of Natural Sciences, Norway), who delivered a series of lectures for students on "How to Overcome New Challenges in the Water Sector."

In the summer of 2023, within the framework of the program "Programs for Intensifying Academic Cooperation for the Reconstruction and Recovery of Ukraine" (PEACE-R2UK), department teachers S.Y. Martinov and O.O. Grytsyna attended a Summer School in Great Britain, where they learned about teaching methods and scientific directions of Newcastle University. In the summer of 2024, Prof. O.O. Bedunkova continued the successful implementation of this program for our teachers.

The university and KWB (Germany) have established the Center for Advanced Technologies in Water Management (CEWM).
