The first place in the international competition of student scientific works 'Black Sea Science 2026' in the field of 'Ecology and Environmental Protection' was awarded to a master's student majoring in 'Ecology'Iryna Huntiakwith a paper on the topic 'Changes in the morphometric traits of bees as a response to environmental factors.' The research was conducted under the supervision of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection Technologies, and ForestryMykola Oleksandrovych Klymenko
This year, the competition took place in two stages, and the final round was held on April 14-15, 2026, at the Odesa National University of Technology (Odesa, Ukraine) under the auspices of the Black Sea Universities Network and the ISEKI-Food Association.
Among 455 scientific works from 26 countries worldwide, Iryna Hunitik's work was among the best and won the first prize.The presented scientific work was highly appreciated by the jury for its relevance, scientific novelty, and practical significance.
The international competition was held at the Odesa National University of Technology.
The jury included 162 scientists, of which 86 were representatives from 26 countries. Only 25% of the best works were selected for the final stage based on international peer review.
