Director of the NNII of Forestry Alla Pryshchepa participated in a round table held at the Nadsluchansk Institute of the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use, dedicated to the scientific and practical foundations of forming the human resource potential of forestry. The event united scientists and practitioners around the global Sustainable Development Goals. Welcoming remarks were made by Vice Rectors Valeriy Soroka and Natalia Savina.
During the panel discussion, Director of the Nadsluchansk Institute Igor Fizyuk presented the results of monitoring the career trajectories of graduates and feedback from employers. The main purpose of the discussion was to bridge the gap between academic theory and modern labor market demands. Special attention was paid to updating educational programs in the context of SDG 4, innovative approaches to forest restoration in accordance with SDG 15, as well as fostering an anti-corruption culture in the professional environment within the framework of SDG 16.
Participants outlined specific mechanisms for cooperation, in particular, involving practitioners in the educational process through guest lectures, developing dual education, and implementing joint scientific-production projects, which will help establish strategic guidelines for creating a quality personnel reserve capable of ensuring the sustainable development of Ukraine's forestry sector. The cooperation of the Nadsluchansk Institute with the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection Technology, and Forestry at NUWGP, which prepares master's students in the specialty of 'Forestry', was also noted.
As part of the round table, the updated educational classroom for forestry named after S.A. Hensiruk was presented, which combines modern educational approaches with the scientific legacy of the outstanding scholar. In addition, participants became acquainted with the forestry and taxation training laboratory in an open-air setting - an innovative educational space equipped with wood samples, measuring devices, and visual materials for conducting field classes. This format contributes to more effective development of practical professional competencies among students.
