Round Table: "Current Environmental Issues" within the Science Festival of NUWGP

First-year students majoring in 'Ecology' and 'Environmental Protection Technologies' Bachelor's degree within the framework of the Science Festival of NULES and the study of the academic discipline 'General Ecology and Neoecology' (instructors: Prof. Pryshchepa A.M., Assoc. Prof. Budnik Z.M.) held a round table on the topic: 'Current Ecological Issues'.

During the event, a number of pressing issues were discussed, in particular:

·         the consequences of climate change and its impact on ecosystems and public health;

·         the ecological consequences of the war, including soil and water resource pollution, destruction of natural ecosystems and industrial facilities;

·         problems of increasing waste volumes and insufficient recycling levels;

·         issues of natural resource depletion and the need for rational use of natural resources;

·         the role of ecological education and societal awareness in environmental preservation.

Round table participants also shared their observations regarding local ecological problems and possible solutions, emphasizing the importance of ecological monitoring, the implementation of 'green' technologies, and the development of ecologically responsible behavior.

The discussion showed that current ecological problems are complex and interconnected. Overcoming them requires a systematic approach, active participation from the state, the scientific community, and every citizen. Particularly important are raising ecological awareness, introducing innovative technologies, and responsible attitudes towards natural resources, as these are the foundations of sustainable development and environmental preservation for future generations.
