Scientists from NUWGP participated in the international meeting of the WaterWise Hub project consortium in Romania.
From January 27 to 29, 2026, the second General Assembly of the international project took place in the city of Bucharest (Romania).WaterWise Hub (WWH)...supported by the Horizon Europe program and aimed at promoting research and innovation in the field of water resources and circular economy. Representatives from partner organizations from Romania, Ukraine, Greece, Serbia, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Albania participated in the event. From NUVHP, Professor Olga Biadunkova, PhD in Biological Sciences, from the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection Technology, and Forestry, took part in the event.
The event program included presentations of the results from the project work packages, discussions on the development of the Research and Innovation Strategy (R&I Strategy), technological scouting, issues related to the commercialization of innovative solutions, the development of professional competencies, and the formation of the regional ecosystem WaterWise Hub. Special attention was given to the development of circular approaches to water resource management and the enhancement of international cooperation in the area of water security.
During the meeting, representatives of partner countries presented the peculiarities of developing national innovation ecosystems and the existing challenges in implementing the principles of circular economy in the water sector. Ukraine also shared its vision for the development of this direction and its potential for international cooperation.
Participation in the event was an important opportunity for exchanging experiences with international partners, showcasing Ukrainian scientific potential, and further developing international cooperation in the fields of environmental safety, sustainable water resource management, and the implementation of circular economy principles.
