Teachers, students, researchers, and staff of the Institute of National University of Water and Environmental Engineering joined the organized university celebration of the International Vyshyvanka Day.
Every year on the third Thursday of May, Ukraine celebrates Vyshyvanka Day. On this day, Ukrainians wear embroidered shirts - symbols of national culture, pride, and unity. A vyshyvanka - is not just clothing, but a true talisman passed down from generation to generation, reminding us of our traditions, history, and indomitable spirit. It carries the genetic code of the nation, as the patterns encoded symbols reflecting the history, rituals, and worldview of the Ukrainian people.
On this festive day, the university community traditionally gathered at the NUWEE stadium to not only join the vyshyvanka marathon, take a group photo, and chat, but also participate in a charity auction. And even the rain did not hinder this.
During the auction, everyone had the opportunity to purchase a branded shopper, mug, thermos, or candle, as well as donate to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
