ELECTIVE DISCIPLINES

OPP LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITY 2025

The training under the educational and professional programs of the department involves not only mastering the mandatory components of education but also the opportunity to choose elective disciplines. This approach ensures the flexibility of the educational process and allows each higher education seeker to form their own individual educational trajectory according to their professional interests, personal inclinations, and future career plans. This contributes to the deepening of professional competencies, the expansion of practical skills, and the preparation of a competitive specialist capable of effectively realizing themselves in professional activities.

 

PRACTICAL TRAINING

Training at the department is practice-oriented. This approach enables higher education seekers to acquire necessary professional skills during their studies and to prepare qualitatively for work in real conditions, as they not only master theoretical knowledge but also immediately apply it in the process of completing practical tasks, case studies, and modeling professional situations. An important component of training is undergoing industrial practice in institutions, organizations, and specialized structures, where students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the specifics of their future profession and gain valuable practical experience. The effective formation of professional competencies is also supported by the functioning of training laboratories, specialized classrooms, and department branches, where conditions have been created for practicing practical skills, conducting trainings, master classes, and direct interaction with practicing professionals.

Since the training of specialists in the educational-scientific institute of law places significant emphasis on the study of the everyday practical activities of lawyers, attorneys, investigators, law enforcement officers, and other legal positions, a training laboratory and three training grounds have been established at the department.The purpose of the functioning of the forensic training laboratory of the NNIP:organization of effective practical classes and visual representation of various investigative actions, namely:

a) inspection of the scene (preparation of a protocol for the inspection of the scene, providing information regarding the correctness of the description of objects and structures) and more.

b) search, seizure (there is a secret storage in the laboratory).

c) conducting training sessions on compiling composite sketches, investigating fingerprints 'Dactyloscopy', and more.

d) performing specific research tasks while conducting forensic examinations, etc.

As part of the operation of the forensic training laboratory, two training grounds have been equipped: Training Ground No. 1 (internal) of the forensic training laboratory (Auditorium 805 a) and Training Ground No. 2 (external) of the forensic training laboratory.Training Ground No. 1 (internal) of the forensic training laboratoryis equipped with a video camera for demonstrating the inspection of the scene on the screen in auditorium 805 (forensic training laboratory). This ground simulates the inspection of murder scenes, infliction of bodily harm, and more.

At Training Ground No. 2 (external) of the forensic training laboratorythe following activities are conducted:

1. Training sessions on the inspection of the scene in the case of theft, detection, recording, and extraction of fingerprints, break-ins, micro-objects, and footwear.

2. Simulation of a traffic accident, reconstruction of the accident, and recreation of the circumstances of the scene during the forensic automotive examination.

3. Examination of the crime scene regarding the fact of a robbery using firearms (or cold weapons). Detection, fixation, and removal of ballistic traces during the situational forensic ballistic examination, etc.

To involve senior students in practical legal work based on agreements, close mutual cooperation has been established with local judicial, law enforcement, human rights agencies, territorial offices of state executive authorities, local government bodies, and private legal entities and individuals engaged in providing legal services.

Training ground No. 3.At the initiative of the leadership of the Law Institute of NUWGP and the desire of law students to deepen their study of handwriting and technical and forensic examination of documents, Training Ground No. 3 of the Forensic Training Laboratory was created. With the introduction of this ground, students have the opportunity for in-depth study of forensic science.
