Educational activities

The department prepares and graduates students in three specialties:

- 101/E2 Ecology: bachelor's, master's, doctorate. 

During their studies, future ecologists prepare for professional activities by studying the state of the environment; learning to monitor existing and potential sources of pollution; developing and implementing control measures for environmental protection; acquiring computer modeling skills; navigating legislation; conducting environmental expertise. Upon obtaining their specialty, graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities: as an ecologist in a company; as a specialist in the State Water Agency or the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources; as an environmental auditor or inspector; as an employee in research, design, and nature conservation institutions; in agricultural and customs control structural subdivisions; as a teacher in vocational education institutions and higher education establishments; as an instructor in informal environmental education.

- 183/G2 Environmental Protection Technologies:bachelor's, master's, doctorate. 

During their studies, students acquire skills to predict the impact of production on the environment; analyze incoming and outgoing pollution flows; calculate parameters of environmental protection technological processes; implement production environmental control and management. Graduates have prospects to work: in state bodies for environmental safety control; in law enforcement agencies; environmental prosecutor's offices and organizations overseeing environmental protection; in research institutions and educational establishments; as project developers for technical conditions and standards.

- 205/H4Forest Management:master. 

Higher education applicants learn the organization of rational forest use; afforestation; prevention of forest fires; protection of trees from pests and diseases; preparation of sites for logging; accounting and assessment of forests. Graduates have prospects to work: as specialists in state and private forestry enterprises; as heads of production units in agriculture, forestry, and water management; as employees of logging and woodworking enterprises and the State Forest Resources Agency; as researchers in nature reserves and National Parks; as state forest inspectors.

 

Foreign Language Training

In the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, courses were taught in English at the department. Associate Professor Z.M. Budnik conducted lessons in the following subjects:
