17 In March 2026, during a lecture on the subject 'Economics of Software (Economics and Business)' for 3rd-year students majoring in 'Information Systems and Technologies', a practical specialist was connected. The Director of LLC 'IRP DATA SERVICE', Oksana Vasylivna Kozyik, shared her observations and experience on the topic 'Business Processes in the Development and Evaluation of Software'. For the students of'Information Systems and Technologies'the topic is relevant and directly related to their future profession.
Oksana Vasylivna detailed the organization of the development and maintenance process of software products in the enterprise, emphasizing the essential skills for such worksoft skills- the ability to listen to and understand clients, to transform their often unclear desires into specific requirements for future software. Teamwork skills and stress resistance are also important, as there are often misunderstandings and force majeure circumstances. She stressed the strict adherence to standards not only during the direct development of software code but also in the preparation of accompanying documentation.
It was important to hear that most concepts and terms used during work processes are 'alive' and not just part of pure theory taught during lectures. The same applies to the methods of assessing key aspects regarding software development: labor intensity, project development time, the number of workers with the necessary qualifications, especially – the cost of work. After all, these aspects are what the discipline 'Economics of Software (Economics and Business)' is focused on.
Especially valuable for the students was understanding that their professional future may be connected with 'IRP DATA SERVICE', as it is for some graduates of previous years.
Thank you for the long-term cooperation, the time devoted, and the relevant information!
Until our next meetings!
