In order to reinforce the theoretical material, 4th-year students of the Automotive Transport specialty visited the service station 'Avtofarba Ukraine' and participated in a practical master class on adjusting the angles of vehicle wheel alignment using a modern 3D wheel alignment stand. The master class was conducted by Andrii Ivanov, a graduate of the same specialty from the 2017 cohort.
Experts from the company demonstrated to the students the principles of modern equipment for checking and adjusting vehicle wheel geometry. It was explained that proper adjustment of the wheel alignment angles is an important factor that affects vehicle handling, tire wear, and road safety.
During the master class, students were shown the operation of the modern 3D wheel alignment stand, which allows for precise measurement of vehicle suspension parameters. Thanks to special sensors and a computer system, the equipment forms a three-dimensional model of the wheel position of the vehicle.
The specialists explained how to prepare the vehicle for measurements, how special targets are installed on the wheels, and how the system determines deviations of the suspension parameters from standard values.
On the computer screen, students could observe the measurement results in real time and see how parameters changed during suspension adjustment.
The service station employees also talked about the main causes of wheel alignment violations, including wear of suspension components, damage from road irregularities, or incorrect installation of parts during repairs.
The conducted master class allowed the students to better understand the principles of modern diagnostic equipment and see the process of vehicle suspension adjustment in practice.
Such practical sessions contribute to the formation of professional competencies of future specialists in the automotive industry and help connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
The team of the Department of Vehicles and Automotive Engineering sincerely thanks the team of the service station 'Avtofarba Ukraine' for their hospitality, interesting excursion, and the opportunity for students to gain valuable practical experience.
