The Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation is an important center for student development, as it not only provides high-quality education but also opens up opportunities for master's and doctoral studies. Doctoral students can not only deepen their knowledge in the field of physical therapy but also actively engage in research activities, contributing to the scientific advancement of this important field. This is a place where innovation and talent come to life, making the department an excellent environment for study and self-realization.

During their studies, students acquire skills in forecasting the health status of individuals and the public; developing and justifying ways to engage the population in health and recreational physical activity; programming physical rehabilitation sessions; determining promising paths for using rehabilitation tools; designing the educational process in health basics in general educational institutions; using basic means and methods of physical rehabilitation; performing classical and sports massage; providing first aid in life-threatening conditions. They also learn to conduct physical education classes in preschool and school educational institutions, manage activities of fitness, recreation, and rehabilitation organizations, and conduct research on professional-related issues.

The main places of employment for our graduates include sanatoriums, health resorts, preschools and schools, fitness centers, rehabilitation centers, adaptive sports, sports clubs, and health and wellness camps.

Students have the opportunity to study simultaneously at a Polish profile higher education institution and obtain a diploma from a European university.

Great attention in preparing future specialists is paid by the department's instructors to cooperation with leading European educational institutions that train specialists in related fields. For NUVHP, signing cooperation agreements with well-known European universities is another step towards international recognition of our education.

In particular, an important partner for the university has become the Private Higher School of Environmental Protection in Radom (Poland). This educational institution is included in the Polish ministerial register of academic schools, which guarantees that university education and diplomas are recognized throughout Europe.

May 15, 2013, entered the history of the National University of Water Management and Nature Management as the day of the founding of a new department – Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation, which trained specialists at the educational and qualification level of 'bachelor'. It was created following the example of classical universities around the world and taking into account the experience of NUVHP's closest partners – Polish higher education institutions that prepare specialists in physiotherapy, fitness and recreation, physical education, tourism, and environmental protection.

The department was headed by Ihor Mykhailovych Hryhus – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Educator of Ukraine, a physician of the highest qualification category in the specialties 'Therapy' and 'Physiotherapy', a professor at the Krakow Academy named after Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski, and a corresponding member of the International Slavic Academy of Education named after Y. A. Comenius.

On November 19, 2013, meetings of the Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation and the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education took place at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Agroecology and Land Management.

As a result of discussions and voting, it was decided to elect Professor Ihor Hryhus as the head of the Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation, and Associate Professor Natalia Nesterchuk as the head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education, and to recommend their appointments to the university's academic council.

Since February 15, 2018, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Protection has been operating at the university. The institute was established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On Higher Education', the university's charter, based on the decision of the university’s academic council (protocol No. 10 dated December 27, 2017) and in execution of the order dated January 9, 2018 No. 07 'On changing the organizational structure of NUVHP, creating the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Protection.'

Ihor Hryhus has been appointed as the acting director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Care.

The structure of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Care includes the following departments:Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation;Theory and Methodology of Physical Education;Medical and Psychological Disciplines.

Since the establishment of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Care, Professor, Doctor of Sciences Nataliia Nesterchuk has been elected head of the Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation.
