The Department of Water Engineering and Water Technologies has a strong scientific and technical potential. The scientific research conducted at the department focuses on priority areas of science and technology development, and their results are known both in Ukraine and abroad.

The scientists of the department are working on solving current problems in the field of water engineering and natural resource management. Key research directions include:

Modeling and forecasting the state of the environment and climate change.
Technologies for the disposal of household and industrial waste.
Rational water use, effective wastewater treatment, and prevention of pollution of water bodies.
Rational natural resource management in the context of climate change, particularly in the natural-technogenic landscapes of Polissia.
Development of modern designs of drainage and irrigation systems and soil water regulation technologies.
Optimization of water regime management of drained lands using modern IT technologies.
Increasing the operational reliability and efficiency of water use in the Danube rice irrigation systems.

The department maintains close cooperation with leading scientific institutions and universities in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and other countries. Scientific and pedagogical staff actively participate in the implementation of international grant programs, which contributes to improving the quality of training specialists and the qualifications of the teaching staff. The department's developments have repeatedly received high awards at prestigious competitions.

The department successfully operates a postgraduate and doctoral program, where highly qualified scientific personnel are trained.

Teachers have prepared and published about 3,000 scientific articles, 12 monographs, over 30 regulatory and technical documents, as well as received more than 40 author certificates and patents.
