1. Directions of scientific research
Representatives of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation, and Energy Audit are involved in scientific activities related to the development and implementation of resource-saving and energy-efficient solutions in design, new construction, and thermal modernization of existing buildings.
2. Scientific infrastructure and equipment
The department has educational and research production laboratories for heat pump technologies (with an operational heat pump system), heating system modeling, energy-efficient ventilation, and more.

In 2017-2018, department members participated in a state scientific research project "Analysis of the domestic regulatory framework and global experience regarding the calculation of the amount of thermal energy consumed for heating places of thermal energy and the development of proposals for amendments to the Methodology for calculating the amount of heat consumed for heating common areas in multi-apartment buildings," supervised by M. D. Kizeyev, contract No. 23-39/2017 dated June 12, 2017.
From 2018 to 2021, the department members were involved in the international technical assistance project "Support for the National Energy Efficiency Fund and Environmental Reform Program (S21) in Ukraine." One of the project's tasks is "Developing competencies and training energy auditors and other technical specialists in all regions of Ukraine." As part of the project, the certification commission of NUVHP prepared and certified energy auditors.
Since 2020, representatives of the department are...the teams of the project implementation group of NUVHP within the project "Higher Education," Order No. 383 dated July 15, 2020. An agreement concluded between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank to improve the energy efficiency of university buildings, to save energy resources while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and simultaneously to enhance the quality of education, social and research infrastructure, as well as to reduce maintenance costs.
In recent years, members of the department have been involved in carrying out departmental research work.Development of recommendations for improving the regulatory framework in the field of energy-efficient construction and utilities, energy certification and inspection of engineering systems in buildings, implementation of energy-efficient technologies and engineering equipment in the design, construction, and operation of utility facilities and residential areas (State registration No. 0120U103446) 2020-2023 and "Development and implementation of resource-saving and energy-efficient solutions in the design, new construction, thermal modernization of existing buildings, and operation of industrial and housing and communal facilities considering decarbonization and sustainable development requirements" (State registration No. 0124U005138) 2024-2027.
