Scientific Activity

The scientific directions of the department are implemented through the execution of works within the framework of the scientific research departmental topic 'Development of Scientific and Methodological Approaches to the Management of Resources of Territorial Communities' (State registration number 0124U001832 dated 16.02.2024).Scientific supervisor – Associate Professor Lishchynskyi A.H. 

Scientific research laboratory for land resource management and geo-informatics.

The laboratory's scientific research is related to relevant issues of rational use of territorial resources and monitoring of natural-technogenic systems, their systemic modeling:

• Research areas:

  • Experimental and theoretical studies of processes occurring in land resources.
  • Research on pollution of land resources by industrial and household waste.
  • Study of the problems of land monitoring and the development of scientific methods and information technologies for monitoring.
  • Development of recommendations on land protection issues.
  • Development of scientific methods and models for effective management of land resources.
  • Development of decision support systems, information-consultation, information-expert, geo-information models, and systems according to the needs of effective use of land resources.
  • Forecasting the state and productivity of land.
  • Monitoring, assessment, forecasting, and management of the state of reclamation lands.
  • Research that will contribute to the creation of an automated cadastral registration system.
  • Problems of creating geographic information systems.
  • Development of new and improvement of existing methods for monitoring lands in large agricultural complexes, in residential and recreational areas.
  • Study of geodynamic processes and their consideration in land assessment.
  • Development of issues and improvement of the methodology for comprehensive assessment of urban territories.
• Main areas of activity:
  • Completion of orders from the State Geocadastre regarding the establishment of a cadastral registration system;
  • Execution of orders from licensed institutions and enterprises, providing scientific and technical assistance on issues of land allotment and inventory, their monetary valuation, preparation of technical documentation for issuing state acts for permanent use and private ownership of land;
  • Organization of seminars, conferences, and meetings;
  • Organization of training for employees of production organizations and institutions within the framework of the postgraduate education institute and the faculty of professional development;
  • Involvement of graduate students and students in scientific and research work;
  • use of research results in the educational process;
  • publishing monographs, manuals, methodical guidelines.

The department staff serve as scientific consultants for scientific production institutions, government authorities, and local self-government bodies, participate in the certification of highly qualified scientific personnel, and are involved in the development of regulatory documents – education standards and legal documents in various fields.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department continuously participate actively in international, all-Ukrainian, and intra-university scientific conferences, specialized exhibitions, seminars, etc. The department's team publishes annually over 20 scientific works on relevant issues of land management, geoinformatics, land cadastre, land monitoring, water management, and ecology. The scientific achievements and practical developments of the department staff are applied in the educational process, during the preparation of master's theses that are carried out on real objects. The high level of student training is evidenced by prize-winning places at All-Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions of student research works, publications in specialized and professional editions.
