- The main research areas of the department: mathematical and computer modeling of natural, technogenic, and information systems; modeling the processes of rumor spread in social networks.; methodsintellectual data analysis and forecasting of seismic processes; modeling the propagation of localized soliton-like disturbances in continuous media and socio-communicative systems; computer modeling of water usage in river basins; studying multi-channel queuing systems with repeated calls; mathematical modeling of nonlinear disturbances in processes such as "filtration-convection-diffusion-mass transfer" with incomplete data; modification and generalization of models of antiviral and antibacterial immune responses.
- The department's team has collaborated with leading scientific centers in Ukraine, including the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Hydromechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as with the departments of system analysis and decision-making theory, complex systems modeling, and mathematical physics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; applied mathematics and information systems at Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko; and automated control systems at the National University "Lviv Polytechnic," among others.
- The faculty team of the department has repeatedly earned the right to conduct research work under state budget funding. The researchers from the department are regular participants in national and international scientific conferences; they publish scientific articles in leading professional publications, including those indexed in Scopus and Web of Science; and they are multiple laureates of nationwide competitions and awards. The scientific developments of Assoc. Prof. Zhukovskyi V. V., particularly in IT solutions, ranked highly in the National IT Project Competition on e-democracy EGAP CHALLENGE 2016, at the two-day Civic Tech Camp 2017, and at the All-Ukrainian Hackathon of Agricultural Innovations in 2018. In 2020, Zhukovskyi V. V. won funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within a competition for scientific and technical (experimental) developments under the state order among young scientists. The project titled "Information and Analytical System for Organic Farming and Ensuring Soil Ecological Sustainability" received support for three years. Associate Professors Zhukovska N. A. and Zhukovskyi V. V. are laureates of the Rovno Regional State Administration Award for young scientists for their contributions and achievements in fundamental and applied research and scientific-technical developments (2018); Assoc. Prof. Ivanchuk N. V. is a laureate of the annual regional award for young scientists for contributions and achievements in fundamental and applied research and scientific-technical developments (2020), a scholarship recipient of the Cabinet of Ministers for young scientists (since 2020 to present), a laureate of the annual "Young Scientist of the Year" competition (2021), and a laureate of the President of Ukraine's award for young scientists (2022).
🏆Working with Gifted Youth
- Student teams (Vlasjuk I., Filatov M., Chuma A.) under the guidance of Prof. Vlasjuk A. P. participated in international competitions, including the world championship in programming in 2003 in Bucharest, Romania (The 2003-2004 ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest).
- Under the guidance of Prof. Vlasyuk A. P., Prof. Martyniuk P. M., Prof. Turbal Yu. V., and Assoc. Prof. Ostapchuk O. P., seven winners of the Tomorrow.UA scholarship program of the V. Pinchuk Foundation have been prepared, who became scholarship recipients of this competition: Boryushkina Y. (2008), Drozdovsky T. (2011), Kushnir I. (2013), Rakovets M. (2009), Bagnyuk O. Demchuk won a first-degree diploma at the International Competition of Student Research Papers (supervisor Assoc. Prof. Zhukovsky V.V.).
- Students majoring in "Applied Mathematics," "Software Engineering," and "Computer Science" actively participate in programming and mathematics competitions at both international and national levels. In particular, they participated in the 36th and 37th International Semifinals of the ACM/ICPC programming competition (2011, 2012), earned second place in the final round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Programming (2014), and third place (2015). They also received diplomas for outstanding achievements at the VII International Open Student Olympiad in Programming "KPI-Open 2012" and IX "KPI-Open 2014," which confirms their high level of training and competitiveness on the international stage.
- Since 2015, under the scientific guidance of Associate Professor V. V. Zhukovsky, eight students from the regional circle "Multimedia, Educational and Gaming Programs" of the RMANUM have won awards at the final III stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the defense of research works of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Additionally, some of his students have represented Ukraine with distinction at prestigious international platforms such as the International Swiss Talent Forum, the Malaysian Technology Exhibition, and the E-NNOVATE Virtual Innovation Exhibition in Poland, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and innovative solutions.
Collaboration with Employers and Graduate Employment
