The Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics systematically develops the international component of the educational process through the integration of modern scientific approaches, practice-oriented training, and joint educational initiatives with foreign partners. Special attention is paid to involving department lecturers and students in international research projects, interuniversity educational events, summer and winter schools, workshops, and conferences, which ensures the acquisition of experience in a multicultural academic environment and the formation of professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of the global IT market.
The international activities of the department are carried out in accordance with the approved document at NUWEE«Strategy for the Internationalization of the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use until 2030»and«Regulation on the Procedure for the Implementation of the Right to International Academic Mobility at NUWEE», which includes creating a transparent, flexible, and actively promoted system of academic mobility for lecturers and students of the university.
On social networksthe Center for International Cooperation and Educationprovides information about study, internship, and student and postgraduate exchange opportunities abroad under the Erasmus+, DAAD, Erasmus Mundus Programme, Fulbright Fund, Horizon 2020, and other scholarship programs, as well as holds information days with representatives of relevant programs.
Participation of department lecturers inthe preparation and implementation of the international project WARIFA (Watching the Risk Factors) under the EU Horizon program.On August 28, 2025, an extended meeting of project participants took place at the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use with international partners from Norway, Finland, Spain, Italy, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine, as well as representatives of medical institutions and IT organizations.

Participation of students and scientific-pedagogical workers of the department in a series of practical workshops as part of a telemedicine project organized within a real IT project being developed and launched on real servers. The workshop program allowed participants to work through the complete cycle of software product creation: from server preparation, architectural solutions, and prototypes to deployment, integration, and live operation of the system.
Participation of department staffin the Third Practical School as part of the project #22320101 “Water Renovation in Ukraine” (summer 2024), organized and hosted by Mendel University (Brno, Czech Republic). The project is coordinated by the University of Debrecen (Hungary). Project partners include: National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use (Rivne, Ukraine), Agricultural University of Krakow (Krakow, Poland), Mendel University (Brno, Czech Republic), and Agricultural University in Nitra (Nitra, Slovakia). Students of the department participated in the Water4All 360° Tour Experience project “Water in the landscape” (August 25-28, 2024) at Mendel University in Brno and Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic, confirming the completion of practical training in modern water supply technologies, sustainable development, and innovative solutions in the water sector. Since 2022, NUWEE has been actively collaborating with the University of Newcastle, UK, within the twinning program. The cooperation covers various areas, including semester exchange under academic mobility programs for related specialties, the implementation of a certified English language improvement program “Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) English Language Development opportunities for NUWEE,” and joint research initiatives. Students participated in the English language improvement program. Between 2022-2024, 5 students in the “Computer Science” specialty: Antonchuk Olha Ruslanivna, 4th-year student; Dyachenko Daria, 2nd-year student; Lyashchuk Anastasiya, 2nd-year student; Lahodnyuk Danylo, 4th-year student; and Kudryavtseva Anastasiya, 2nd-year student underwent a semester of study at Newcastle University, UK, under the international exchange program. Additionally, a PEACER2UK grant project and 2 Summer Schools were implemented.
The university actively collaborates with foreign universities within the Erasmus+ KA1 program (22 inter-institutional agreements). During the recent 2023-2024 years, two students from the department participated in mobility programs under Erasmus+ to Kielce University of Technology and Lublin Polytechnic (Antonchuk Olha and Lopatina Diana).
Students specializing in “Computer Science” participated in the implementation of a grant project from the Ukrainian-Polish Youth Exchange Council under number UKR/2024/W/0025 titled “Bridges of History – on Chivalric Paths,” and under number UKR/2023/W/0034 titled “Journ Artist. FM: Youth Creative and Journalistic Trainings”: Volodymyr Stetsiuk, 1st year, and Dyachenko Daria, 3rd year.
Department lecturers are reviewers for international scientific journals, including the scientific journal "Informatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Srodowiska" of Lublin Polytechnic University, which is indexed in international bibliographic databases, including Scopus.
Foreign colleagues actively participate in the department's scientific seminar led by Professor Bombi A.Y. On October 31, 2025, a professor from the Department of Mathematics at Florida State University, USA, Nicholas Korgan, presented a report on “Some Problems in Mathematical Biology.”
Lecturers, students, and postgraduates from the department participate in the annualInternational Scientific and Practical Conference “Modeling, Control and Information Technologies”.
