On April 23, 2026, a significant event took place at the Institute of Educational Sciences – a guest lecture within the framework of the international Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project 'Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science, and Sports' (EVUESS).
The event, funded by the European Union, brought together educators, researchers, and students of the Institute of Educational Sciences around the idea of forming a modern educational and sports environment based on democracy, partnership, and solidarity.
The project coordinator, Associate Professor Yaroslav Halan, presented to the audience not only the theoretical aspects but also real opportunities for students. The main focus was on:
- the implementation of European approaches in working with student-athletes and future rehabilitation specialists;
- the formation of European identity through active youth participation in international events;
- the integration of principles of respect for human dignity into Ukrainian sports science.
During the lecture, attendees were introduced to significant achievements of the project that have already been implemented at the university:
- the organization of winter and summer schools for active youth;
- the functioning of the Jean Monnet cabinet;
- the establishment of the Jean Monet Alley and the installation of the Unity Bench.
The event took place with the support of the director of the Institute of Educational Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Igor Hryhys. In his address, Igor Mykhailovych emphasized that involving students in such projects is extremely relevant.
Participants of the lecture not only acted as listeners but also took part in a special survey, expressing their views on Ukraine's European integration. A pleasant conclusion was the announcement of the issuance of personal certificates to all participants of the lecture, which will be a significant addition to their professional portfolios.
The holding of such events within the walls of the Institute confirms our shared development vector – fostering a new generation of specialists with a European mindset and an active civic position.
