From May 7 to 10, 2026, the picturesque city of Kamianets-Podilskyi hosted the Ukrainian WAKO Kickboxing Championship among students. This prestigious competition brought together the strongest young athletes from across the country.
The National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use (NUWMRU) was represented at the tournament by a powerful and ambitious team of students from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health Care (ESIHC). Our athletes once again proved that they are leaders in Ukrainian student sports!
Our champions and prize winners in the 'full contact' category:
- Kolesnyk Oleksandr (student of group FCS-41) – demonstrated iron will, impeccable technique, and won an honorable 1st place!
- Symonovych Ilona (student of group TR-11) – conquered the ring with her character and skill, securing a confident 1st place!
- Nikitchuk Anna (student of group TR-11) – demonstrated a high level of preparation and took 3rd place!
This incredible golden double and bronze finish were the result of exhausting training and iron discipline under the guidance of the experienced lecturer and WAKO kickboxing coach Iryna Orel.
In addition to the loud victories in the ring, this championship brought achievements for the institute in the judging panel. Senior lecturer of the Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation Nikochenko Inna successfully passed the certification and upgraded her judging categoryfromIII to II!
