A judges' seminar on WAKO kickboxing and scientific consulting for the city's team coaches took place at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports.
On March 28, 2026, the Educational and Research Institute of Health became a center for professional growth for the sports community in the region. A Judges' Seminar and a scientific consulting session for the city's team coaches were held at the institute in collaboration with the Ukrainian Kickboxing Federation 'WAKO'.
The event combined theoretical knowledge and practical cases necessary for the safe and quality conduct of competitions at the highest level.
The training covered key aspects of specialist preparation, from medical assistance to the intricacies of arbitration:
· "Basics of Basic First Aid" – the topic was presented by Kyryk O. O. Participants practiced action algorithms in critical situations, which is a vital skill for every coach and referee.
· "Injury Prevention in Sports" – lecturer Nykolenko O. I. The focus was on modern methods of preventing injuries during intensive training.
· "Features of Taping" – the material was prepared by Nykolenko I. M. A masterclass in applied kinesiology helped coaches master techniques for supporting athletes' muscles and joints.
· "Rules of Tatami Disciplines in WAKO Kickboxing" – speaker Orel I. O. (international category referee). A detailed analysis of evaluation nuances in light styles of kickboxing.
· "Rules of Ring Disciplines in WAKO Kickboxing" – the material was presented by Starykov V. S. (international category referee). An analysis of refereeing in hard styles.
Particular attention was paid to scientific consulting for the city's team coaches. The synergy between researchers from the Educational and Research Institute of Health and practicing coaches allows for the implementation of evidence-based rehabilitation and physical training methods in our teams' training process.
Such events confirm the status of the Educational and Research Institute of Health as a leading center for training specialists in the fields of physical culture, sports, and rehabilitation.
