On October 31, the Department of Finance and Economic Security of NUVGP organized two applied online lectures for finance students.
The first invited speaker was Hryhoriy Volodymyrovych Kukuruza, co-founder of the analytical agency Ukraine Economic Outlook. The renowned Ukrainian economist discussed the structural changes in Ukraine's economy for 2022–2025, changes in the sectoral structure of GDP, and possible scenarios for the country's medium-term recovery. The expert paid special attention to the factors of long-term recovery for Ukraine and current investment processes, particularly military insurance and the expected payback periods.
An online meeting also took place with Danylo Olegovych Ivasyuk, head of the sector for interaction with entities of the state financial management system at the State Institution "Open Public Finances." The speaker shared practical experience in project management and the implementation of analytical and accounting systems of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, "DB Minfin" and "GRK-WEB." The topic of Danylo Olegovych's presentation was "Spending.gov.ua"From Open Data to Research and Public Oversight: How to Work with Budget Commitments, Contracts, Transactions, and the E-data API" sparked lively interest among students and teachers. The use of such services opens new opportunities for applied analysis of public finances.
We sincerely thank the invited experts for their substantive presentations and the new insights that help to better understand the current challenges and prospects of Ukraine's public finance and economy!
