International Workshop for Community Development
Professor of the Department of Management and Public Administration Petr Skrypchuk presented practical proposals for communities at the International Workshop "Community Resilience: From Data and Analytics to Practical Solutions" held as part of the Industrial Recovery & Community Capacity Network (IRCCN) project, which received grant support from the international accelerator Science at Risk, organized by the Ukrainian popular science media KUNSHT.
The project is implemented by the Research Center for Industrial Development Problems of the NAS of Ukraine in collaboration with the NGO "Academic Space" in partnership with Ukrainian and international scientific, expert, and municipal organizations.
One of the key outcomes of the project is the establishment of the international scientific society Society for Industrial Recovery & Community Resilience Studies (SICRS) – an open scientific-analytical platform for researching issues of industrial recovery, community development, preparing policy briefs, disseminating international practices, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
The workshop brought together representatives of local government bodies, state authorities, international organizations, scholars, experts, business, and civil society to discuss modern approaches to enhancing community capacity and developing practical instruments for their growth.
The first platform for project implementation was the Stryi Village Territorial Community of the Lviv region, which serves as the pilot community for testing approaches to enhance local capacity, international cooperation, and the use of evidence-based analytics in territorial development processes.
Participation in such events promotes the exchange of experiences among NUWGP lecturers, representatives of science, government, and the public sector, as well as discussions on current issues of community development and the search for practical solutions for their implementation.
