International Activities

The expansion of the department's international contacts helps ensure the quality of the educational process, enhances the professional level of teachers, stimulates the development of research, and contributes to the integration of the department into the global scientific and educational space.

The department successfully implementscooperation agreementswith the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin, Poland) and Jan Długosz University (Częstochowa, Poland), particularly in terms of developing academic mobility and prospects for training students under double diploma programs to enhance the competitiveness of graduates in the international labor market.

Department teachers have undergoneforeign internships(Doctor of Philology, Professor Suprun V.M., Doctor of Social Communications, Professor Suprun L.V., Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Malevich L.D., Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Dziuba M.M., Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Nazaryuk V.M.).

The internationalization of the department's activities is facilitated by the participation of teachers ininternational grant projects.For instance, Candidate of Political Science, Associate Professor Shinkaruk A.L. is a participant in the Visegrad Urban Creativity Clusters Network projects (International Visegrad Fund, 2017-2018), Urban Creativity Lab (Goethe-Institut Ukraine, within the framework of the NGO Rivne Media Club, 2016), New Media Protect – youth training (US Embassy grant, within the framework of the NGO Rivne Media Club), Digital storytelling for local newspaper development – (supported by the US Embassy, 2016), and others.

Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Nazaryuk V.M. was a participant and coordinator on behalf of Ukraine in the scientific and practical cultural and educational project 'Strengthen Cross-Cultural Connections, Embrace the Differences' within the Erasmus+ program and supported by the EU program 'Youth in Action' with the assistance of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Education (Istanbul, Turkey).

PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor D. Yu. Popil studied under the International Scholarship Program named after Leyn Kirkland at the Faculty of Journalism and the Faculty of East European Studies (University of Warsaw) and under the 'Inter-Institutional Humanitarian Studies' program (MiHuS), implemented within three universities: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukrainian Catholic University, and the University of Warsaw. She has participated multiple times in the scientific scholarship of the Government of the Republic of Poland (OBTA, Academy Artes Liberalis, University of Warsaw).

The department's lecturers have practicalexperience working in foreign media(in particular, PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor D. Yu. Popil worked in the Polish media 'Nashe Slovo' (Warsaw), the online publication 'Culture.pl', etc.) and practicalexperience working in the media industry in international markets(PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor H. V. Sukharevskaya collaborated with international luxury hotel brands 'Alpenhof Murnau' 5* (Bavaria, Germany), 'Gasthof Post' 5* (Lech, Austria), 'Calista Luxury Resort' 5*, 'Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort' 5* (Belek, Turkey), etc.).

The department wasthe organizer of international scientific forums, including the International Scientific Conference 'Current Problems of Urban Development and Local Self-Government: History and Modernity' (on the 500th anniversary of the granting of Magdeburg rights to the city of Rivne), attended by scientists from Ukraine, Austria, Great Britain, Lithuania, Germany, Norway, Poland, Switzerland.

In partnership with the Department of Terminology Coordination of the European Parliament and the International Association of Ukrainian Studies, the department acted as the initiator and organizer of the International Scientific Conference 'Scientific Terminology of the New Century: Theoretical and Applied Dimensions' (2016). Over 150 scholars and terminology practitioners represented academic, scientific-educational, and other institutions from 15 countries worldwide in this interdisciplinary scientific forum. Research papers by scholars from Ukraine, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Georgia, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovenia, and China were included in the collections of scientific works 'Scientific Terminology of the New Century: Theoretical and Applied Dimensions' (Rivne, 2016. 455 p.) and 'Proceedings of the International Conference “Terminology of the New Century: Theoretical and Practical Aspects (September 15-16, 2016)” (Rivne, 2016. The department's lecturers were co-organizers of international scientific congresses and conferences in Ukraine and abroad (for example, PhD in Philology, Head of the Department L. D. Malievich - member of the scientific committee of the International Congress Smart Society (Polonia University in Czestochowa)).
