At the Department of Finance and Economic Security, research is supported by the appropriate scientific infrastructure, material and technical resources, and specialized software.
To conduct research in the field of finance, the department uses computer labs with access to economic databases, as well as modern software: Excel, Power BI – financial modeling and data analysis; Project Expert, FinModel – modeling the financial activities of enterprises; BAS / 1C, SAP – financial accounting and management systems; business analytics and risk management systems.
The scientific infrastructure of the department includes access to the following information resources and scientific databases:
- electronic scientific library of the university;
- international scientometric databases: Scopus and Web of Science;
- electronic economic databases;
- repository of scientific papers of the university.
For applied research, the department collaborates with practice bases and departmental branches: banks; financial institutions; enterprises; state financial control bodies, where internships for teachers and students are conducted, along with the execution of contractual scientific work.
The scientific research work of the Department of Finance and Economic Security is conducted on the topic: “Financial and Economic Policy of Sustainable Development of Ukraine,” approved for 2025-2030 (state registration number: 0125U002813). - analysis of the current state of planning and implementation of the financial and economic policy of Ukraine at the macro, meso, and micro levels;
- systematization of the process of forming indicators of financial and economic policy for sustainable development and its implementation by taking into account the trends of the state’s sustainable development;
- improvement of state budget policy instruments regarding the formation and use of budgetary funds aimed at achieving financial and economic balance, effectiveness of economic transformations in the state;
- research of the main mechanisms of state tax policy in the sphere of tax relations regulation aimed at mobilizing and using financial resources in the system of regulating sustainable development of the country;
- research of methods of state investment policy through the application of a set of economic, organizational-legal, and other measures by the state aimed at creating a favorable investment climate and improving the sustainable development of the national economy;
- development of methodological approaches to the evaluation and analysis of the effectiveness of ecological investment and environmental protection in the context of sustainable development of the state.
One of the main results of the department's activity is the publication of research results in scientific publications: articles in specialized scientific journals; publications in international scientometric databases (Scopus, Web of Science); monographs and collective monographs; theses of reports at conferences.
Based on the results of scientific work of the department's lecturers for 2025, the number of publications in international scientometric databases (Scopus, Web of Science) is 4 articles, the number of publications in specialized publications is 19, and the theses of reports at international and national conferences are 20.
The department's lecturers participate in the development of the scientific environment through the organization and conduct of: international and national scientific conferences; round tables; scientific seminars; student scientific forums, both independently and by involving higher education seekers of the first, second, and third levels.
Researchers of the department have repeatedly participated in the scientific committee of the University competition of student scientific works 'Science through the Eyes of Youth' (Section: Economics and Management); as part of the jury of the II stage of the National competition for the protection of research works of students-members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the Rivne region, economics department, section 'Finance, Banking and Insurance'; as part of the jury of the I stage of the National student olympiad in the discipline 'Finance'; as part of the jury of the I stage of the National competition of student scientific works in the specialty 'Finance, Banking, Insurance, and the Stock Market'.
Scientific projects involving department staff: Grant project CINEA-H2020-NZC101036519-PCP- Rivne City Council Creating NetZero vision for Rivne-2023-2025 / 'Creating a NetZero Concept for the City of Rivne' (01.06.2023 – 30.05.2025).
Department lecturers have been members of editorial boards of periodicals included in the List of scientific specialized publications of Ukraine (Category 'B'), including the Bulletin of the National University of Water Management and Nature Use (Series: Economic Sciences), as well as international journals. They conduct reviews of monographs, teaching aids, and articles.
An important result of scientific activity is the preparation of researchers in the field of finance and economic security - graduate students; guidance of student scientific works; victories of students in scientific work competitions and olympiads. As of the end of 2025, 10 doctoral students of the third educational and scientific level were studying in the graduate school of finance in both full-time and part-time forms. They are supervised by experienced lecturers.
