General Information

The Department of 'Roads, Foundations and Foundations', which until 1999 was called 'Foundations and Foundations', was established in 1966, with the first head being appointed Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Chubov V.Yu. A significant contribution to the creation of  the material base of the department at that time was made by the head of the laboratory Potapchuk A.P. Subsequently, the department was headed by: Associate Professor Akimov A.A. (1967-1984); Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Tishin V.G. (1984-1989); Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Kucheruk A.O. (1989-1994); Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Professor Babich Y.M. (1994-1998), Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Haidukevich V.A. (1998-2013), Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Kukhnyuk O.M. (2013-2014).Since 2015 and currently the head of the department of roads, foundations and foundations is Dr. of Engineering Sciences, Professor Kuzlo M.T.

At one time, the department was staffed by teachers Shevchenko L.M., Nikolaev V.V., Ponomarenko Yu.F., Romanenko Y.M., Klymenko L.I., Zherebyatyev O.V., Fedorchuk H.F., Kuskovets S.L., Pilipaka L.M. During the formation and further development of the department, the effective functioning of the educational process was ensured by Senior Lab Assistant Bohdan F.N.,Senior Lab Assistant Moroz A.K., Senior Lab Assistant Polyukhovych A.S., Head of the laboratory Nikolaychuk S.M.

In 2015, the department received a license to train specialists with an educational and qualification level of 'Master' in the specialty 'Roads and Airports'. The department's employees defended 6 candidate dissertations and 1 doctoral dissertation. The department provides the educational process for two educational and scientific institutes. The department's teachers supervise production and pre-diploma internships, course design, and master's theses. The department is fully equipped with educational and methodological literature and has a proper base for conducting laboratory and practical classes. During its existence, the department has produced 11 teaching aids and over 150 methodological guidelines.

(Kuzlo M.T.), 'Artificial Structures on Roads' (Haidukevich V.A., Zherebyatyev O.V.), 'Fundamentals of Operation of Roads' (Altman V.V., Haidukevich V.A.), 'Transport Interchanges' (Potiychuk O.B., Pilipaka L.M.).

- methodology of scientific research.

The department's teachers carry out contract and state budget scientific developments at the request of the construction and road industry of the region and beyond. In addition, the department conducts comprehensive scientific work on the problem: 'Improvement and Restoration of the Condition of Roads and Transport Structures'. The directions include: 'Research on the Use of Highly Effective Materials in the Construction of Roads and Airports' (Prof. Kuzlo M.T.); 'Analysis and  optimization of calculation parameters of pile foundations when strengthening engineering structures' (Assoc. Prof. Fursovych M.O.); 'Investigation of the effect of the stiffness of junction connections of steel elements of transport structures on their stress-strain state' (Assoc. Prof. Suprunyuk V.V.); 'Research on the influence of the technical condition of water-passing engineering structures on roads and adjacent areas' (Assoc. Prof. Pavliuk A.P.); 'Analysis of the impact of geometric parameters of roads on the number and severity of traffic accidents'(Senior Lecturer Potiychuk O.B.); 'Research on the Use of Highly Effective Materials in the Construction of Roads and Airports' (Asst. Huiwan Ye.F).

To ensure the educational process under the educational and professional program 'Roads and Airports', the department has 2 laboratories and 2 specialized classrooms, and a methodological cabinet has been created with a sufficient amount of educational and regulatory literature.

The bases for conducting technological practices are road construction and operational organizations of the region: PrJSC 'Rivneavtoshlyakhbud', municipal Rivne Road Maintenance Administration, regional municipal enterprise 'Rivne International Airport', PP 'Zemlebudproekt', LLC 'Grandproektbud', PrJSC 'Khmelnytske ShBU №56'.  In order to improve the practical training of qualified specialists, as well as to conduct joint scientific research and implement their results into production, branches of the department have been created based on the aforementioned enterprises.

The department has close ties with road organizations in the Western region of Ukraine. In addition, the department maintains connections and coordinates its activities with educational institutions such as the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic', National Transport University, and Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University.
