History of the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP

The Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP (EEC NUVHP) was created as a practical educational and informational platform for the implementation of projects in the field of energy efficiency, energy conservation, energy auditing, as well as for training specialists and disseminating modern technologies in construction and operation of buildings.

In 2018, the first location of the EEC NUVHP was opened – an educational site that functions as an educational and informational platform. The main direction of work became training and improving the qualifications of various target groups: energy auditors, energy managers, heads of homeowners' associations, representatives of local communities, designers, construction organizations, and the public.

In 2019, the second location of the Center was opened – an exhibition area, where samples of technical solutions for building insulation, window block installation, as well as modern energy-efficient equipment for heating, ventilation, hot water supply, lighting, and cooling systems are presented.

Thus, the Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP has become a comprehensive platform that combines educational activities, demonstration of modern technologies, and practical implementation of energy-efficient solutions.

The Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP has gained significant development and expansion within the framework of the international project “CINEA-H2020-NZC101036519-PCP – “Creating a NetZero vision for the city of Rivne for 2023–2025 by the Rivne City Council,” which is implemented in accordance with grant agreement No. 101036519 and based on the Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EU) No. 1290/2013 of December 11, 2013, defining the rules for participation in the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation ‘Horizon 2020.’

Within the framework of the Project and based on the Agreement on the creation of the consortium and cooperation between the Department of Economic Development of the Rivne City Council and NUVHP, the Educational-Scientific Laboratory of the Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP was created, which provides practical training for specialists and demonstration of modern technological solutions in the field of energy efficiency.

The Educational-Scientific Laboratory includes the following laboratory stands:

• - individual heating point stand (IHP);
• - hydraulic balancing stand for the heating system;
• - stand for heat distribution devices on heating appliances;
• - stand for electric energy generation from solar energy and electric energy storage;
• - heat and cold generation stand using an air-water heat pump;
• - ventilation system stand with recuperation and cassette fan coils.

Mission and Goal

The goal of the Center is to disseminate knowledge and practical experience in the field of energy efficiency, prepare professionals, develop energy literacy, and support the implementation of modern energy-efficient solutions in buildings.

Main Areas of Activity

• an educational platform for professional training and further qualification of individuals;
• a practical platform for energy auditing and certification of building energy efficiency;
• a demonstration exhibition area of modern energy-efficient solutions.

Locations of the Energy Efficiency Center of NUVHP

1) Educational Location (educational-information platform)

The location is focused on training (conducting workshops, seminars, masterclasses for the implementation of energy-efficient measures) for various target audiences:

• - energy auditors;
• - energy managers;
• - heads of homeowners' associations;
• - heads of territorial communities;
• - representatives of construction organizations and designers;
• - representatives of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies;
• - the population.

2) Exhibition location (demonstration site)

The exhibition location is created to demonstrate modern technologies and equipment, including:

• samples of facade insulation;
• examples of the installation of window and door blocks;
• technologies and equipment for heating, ventilation, lighting, hot water supply, and cooling.

Stands and samples of equipment are already presented in the CEE NUVHP.CERESIT, CAPAROL, REHAU, VELUX, DANFOSS, K-FLEXand other energy-efficient solutions.

Educational activities and events held

CEE NUVHP conducted training, seminars, and workshops, including:

• training and issuance of qualification certificates for energy auditors;
• seminars on reforms in the field of energy efficiency;
• seminars on the insulation of apartment buildings;
• training events on designing heating systems;
• events on the work of the Energy Efficiency Fund;
• trainings on VELUX electrical equipment.

Also, in 2018-2019, large-scale events were held:

• international business forum 'Big Rivne. Energy Efficiency.'

Services of the Energy Efficiency Center

CUEE NUVHP provides the following services:

1. Consultation on energy efficiency

Consultations on the implementation of thermal modernization of residential and public buildings.

 2. Conducting energy audits

Energy audit of buildings and structures to determine the potential for energy savings and the implementation of energy-efficient measures.

3. Certification of energy efficiency of buildings

Development of an energy efficiency certificate for buildings.

 4. Thermal imaging

Conducting thermal imaging inspections of construction sites.

5. Certification of energy auditors

Preparation and certification of energy auditors.
