The preparatory department 'Open Path to Higher Education' of NUVHP is opening enrollment for the zero course as part of the experimental project 'Winter Admission'. This is a short preparatory program before entering the first year, which helps to systematically prepare for the National Multisubject Test and adapt to studying at the university.

Applications can be submitted from 01.01.2026 to 20.02.2026 (inclusive). Classes will last for 3 months in a full-time format. Classes will take place in the educational building No. 1 of NUVHP, at the address: Rivne, Soborna St., 11.

The zero course includes preparation in key subjects necessary for admission: Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, as well as one subject of choice (foreign language (English), physics, or geography).

Below we provide more detailed information:

The goal of the experimental project 'Winter Admission' is to overcome educational losses that arose due to the temporary occupation of territories of Ukraine or the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and to preserve human capital by improving the level of preparation of Ukrainian citizens for entrance examinations and competitive selection for higher education.

Participants in the experimental project include higher education institutions and citizens of Ukraine of the following categories:

1) residents of territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, territories of active combat actions (territories of active combat actions where state electronic information resources operate), territories of possible combat actions included in the list of territories where hostilities are (were) conducted or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, approved by the Ministry of Development order on February 28, 2025 No. 376, who could not participate in the admission campaign;
2) individuals deprived of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, after their release;
3) individuals released from military service of all categories after February 24, 2022;
4) citizens of Ukraine who are serving in the military and have the opportunity, desire, and consent of the command;
5) citizens of Ukraine who have returned from abroad;
6) citizens of Ukraine who are abroad;
7) persons registered to participate in the national multi-subject test who did not appear for the testing and do not belong to the categories of persons specified in subparagraphs 1-5;
8) persons who did not pass the national multi-subject test;
9) graduates of the last year of study from general secondary education institutions, vocational education institutions, and higher vocational education institutions.

Important! In the case of studying in the preparatory department full-time, students of the preparatory department who belong to the categories specified in subparagraphs 1-4 and are enrolled in study in the preparatory department at the expense of individuals are guaranteed the right to receive state grants for study, compensation for accommodation costs in dormitories (in case of placement), and the disbursement of consumer assistance in the amount of one living wage for working persons established as of January 1 of the calendar year per person, calculated monthly from the state budget.

The program includes training for students of the preparatory department in each mandatory subject of the NMU (mathematics, Ukrainian language, and history of Ukraine) for not less than 90 hours of direct participation of students in the educational process, and contains at least one elective subject (namely: foreign language (English), physics, or geography) of the same volume.

Graduates of the preparatory department in the year of receiving the certificate, when enrolling in an institution of higher education NUVHP for specialties that receive special support, receive 15 additional points to the competitive score for special academic achievements.

Application/registration deadlines: 01.01.2026 – 20.02.2026;

The format of study is full-time, and the duration of the preparatory program for students of the preparatory department is 3 months (01.03.2026 – 31.05.2026).

 

In the case of studying at the expense of individuals and/or legal entities, a corresponding contract regarding financial obligations for payment of tuition is concluded.

The cost of the preparatory program for 4 subjects of NMU (360 academic hours) is UAH 36,000.00.

The amount of the state grant for study for the duration of the preparatory program for students of the preparatory department for 3 months for the categories of students specified in subparagraphs 1-4 is UAH 9,000.00.

Compensation for living expenses in dormitories for students of the preparatory department in full-time training, who do not have a permanent place of residence at the location of NUVHP and belong to the categories specified in subparagraphs 1-4, is provided in an amount not exceeding 800 hryvnias per month of study.

After completing the zero course, admission to the first year occurs according to the admission rules of the respective year.
