Areas of scientific research

The main directions of the department's scientific work include:

-  conducting research and practically oriented work on a contractual and budgetary basis;

- the preparation of candidate  dissertations by faculty members;

- the publication of monographs, scientific articles, educational materials, and textbooks;

-    the participation of scientific and teaching staff in international and nationwide scientific and practical conferences, round tables, forums, and seminars;

-  the development of scientific cooperation with leading enterprises in the transport sector and local government bodies;

-     the completion of international internships and participation in grant projects;

-  involving students in scientific research, participation in competitions, Olympiads, and conferences.

Scientific infrastructure and equipment

           The Department hosts the Center for Sustainable Transport Systems, which ensures:

-     the conduct of applied research work;

- conducting laboratory and practical classes using modern software for modeling transport processes;

-     developing practical solutions for urban transport systems.

The department actively has a student scientific club‘Transporter’ (http://surl.li/bmmzbs), within which students:

-     participate in national and international conferences;

-     test the results of their own research;

-     publish scientific articles in collaboration with faculty members;

-     contribute to the implementation of departmental research topics.

The obtained scientific results are integrated into the educational process, contributing to the training of competitive specialists in the transport sector and strengthening the scientific and educational potential of the university.

Practically oriented research on a contractual basis:

1) 'Research on the level of satisfaction with public transport, transportation behavior of residents of Rivne city, and the formation of passenger flows in public transport' (Order: 4-796 dated 09.07.2021 – 31.12.2021)

The results of the research of the department are regularly published in professional publications, conference proceedings and are stored in the scientific and technical library of NUWGP and digital repositoryep3.nuwm.edu.ua.

 

The department is the organizer and active participant of several scientific and technical events, among which:

-    International scientific and technical internet conference

- All-Ukrainian conference "Innovative technologies for the development of mechanical engineering and effective functioning of transport systems";

The department's participation in international programs ensures the exchange of experience with leading European universities, contributes to the improvement of the quality of the educational process, and engages students in world-class research initiatives.
