Preparatory Department

The Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is an educational and scientific unit that prepares foreign citizens and stateless persons for study in all specialties of NUVHP and other educational institutions in Ukraine.

The Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens of the International Cooperation and Education Center of the National University of Water Management and Nature Management (hereinafter NUVHP) was established by the NUVHP order dated 30.11.2018, No. 777.

The training of foreign citizens is conducted in two languages: Ukrainian and/or English.

The number of hours allocated for studying a foreign language is 600 classroom hours, which ensures a language proficiency level of B1.

According to the curricula of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens, the training takes place over two semesters, at the end of each of which there is a credit-examination session.

During the first 10 weeks of study, only the foreign language is taught with a maximum load of 30 hours per week, which allows mastering the necessary level of language knowledge for studying general disciplines, with the introduction of which the number of foreign language hours gradually decreases.

According tothe curriculaof the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens, starting from the 11th week of study, in accordance with the chosen specialization, there is a gradual introduction of general disciplines such as: mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, drawing, country studies, basics of economics, basics of computer science, economic and social geography of the world, fundamentals of Ukrainian and foreign literature, history of Ukraine, etc.

On average, 60 hours are allocated for the study of each general discipline in Ukrainian or English.

The duration of study at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is 10 months.

Foreign students who successfully pass all exams and credits receive a certificate of completion of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens.
