Areas of innovative activity
The university's innovative activities primarily include organizational measures related to the acquisition and protection of intellectual property rights for intellectual property objects (IPOs) created at the university. This activity includes a series of measures coordinated by the Intellectual Property and Innovation Department (IPID) of the Center for Innovation and Grant Activities (CIGA):
- identification of intellectual property objects at the university: inventions, utility models, industrial designs, works;
- consultative work of IPID specialists with inventors/authors regarding the possibility of patenting and registering IPO rights;
- preparation and submission of application materials to UKRONIV;
- keeping records for applications;
- receiving protective documents (patents, certificates) and registering them on the university's balance sheet;
- monitoring the maintenance of patent rights.
The second direction is the commercialization of IPOs, which includes the following activities by IPID:
- monitoring regional, state, and international innovation development programs;
informing inventors about announced programs/projects and organizing the participation of working project groups from NUWGP; - placing information about IPOs in databases of innovative projects, ideas, technologies, and developments;
- development and publication of informational materials for promoting developments (catalogs, flyers, banners, posters, etc.);
- preparation and organization of participation in exhibitions, publications, competitions, presentations, negotiation processes, etc.;
- dissemination of information about the created object on the Facebook page of the Innovation And Grant Activities Center.
- writing proposal letters to manufacturers of goods and technologies in the field of created OPIVs;
- organizing training for inventors/authors in programs in the field of innovation management: training, seminars, workshops, accelerations, incubations;
- conducting paperwork for licensing agreements and agreements on the transfer of rights to OPIVs.
The third area is information and organizational work with student startups. The main activities contributing to the development of student innovative ideas and their transformation into startups:
- conducting training events with students and scientific advisors (mentors): guest lectures and seminars on creating startups (writing presentations, business models, conducting market research, etc.);
- holding the annual University Student Startup CompetitionCOOL IDEA;
- monitoring open incubation and acceleration programs, competitions for innovative ideas, projects and startups, hackathons;
- organization of student teams' participation in external events.
