The program involves an experienced person (mentor) providing recommendations and support to another person (mentee). The mentor always has expertise or experience in a specific area of interest to the mentee.
Mentees are colleagues who, at the beginning of the collaboration, hold at least a master's degree (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 3 months of experience in a research position in academia or industry.
The mentoring program is designed to assist Ukrainian colleagues with the following issues:
- career planning;
- development of a professional network and profile formation;
- working in the UK (specifics of academic culture);
- preparing resumes (CVs) and applications;
- the process of publishing scientific works / articles;
- academic writing;
- securing research funding (only from British grant providers);
- career advancement and growth.
After registration onthe platforma mentor is selected according to the career stage and discipline. It is expected that mentoring sessions will take place online using means convenient for both parties of communication, at least every two weeks for three months.
