Main stages of the department's development

2013-2019- Department of Economic Cybernetics. The department was established in April.in 2013based on the Department of Applied Mathematics and the Department of Labor Resources and Entrepreneurship for the training of specialists in the field of economics, who possess information technology skills. During the existence of the department, repairs and upgrades have been made to the lecture hall and the computer classroom (room 242), equipped with modern computers. A teaching manual "Economic Informatics" has been published (authors Hrytsyuk P.M., Bredyuk V.I., Vasyliiv V.B., Babich T.Yu., Voloshyn V.S., Joshi O.I., Kardash O.L.). Under the guidance of Prof. Hrytsyuk P.M., dissertations for the degree of candidate of sciences have been completed and defended by Lazaryshyn A.V., Babich T.Yu., and Bachyshyna L.D. In 2017, a master's program "Information Technologies in Business" was launched in the specialty "Economics."

2013-2019– Department of Computer Science. The department was established in September 2013, based on the Department of Computational Mathematics. The department was initially headed by Assoc. Prof. Krulikovskyi B.B. Since 2016, the department has been headed by Prof. Tulasvili Y.Y.Protected doctoral dissertations: Gladka O.M. (2015), Zubik L.V. (2016).  In 2017, the educational program "Information Systems and Technologies" was launched.In 2018, the educational program "Vocational Education (Computer Technologies)" was launched.

2019-2026– Department of Computer Science’computer technologies and economic cybernetics (CTEC). The department was established in September2019 yearby joining the department of computer’computer science to the Department of Economic Cybernetics.

The goal of the department is to... training specialists in the field of information technology who can solve practical problems in the economy and business.

The department offers two bachelor's degree programs: "Information Systems and Technologies" (accredited in 2021) and "Vocational Education. Digital Technologies" (accredited in 2024).In 2023, a master's educational program in the specialty "Information Systems and Technologies" was launched (accredited in 2024). The department teaches the university standard course "Fundamentals of Digital Technologies." The main focus of the department's methodological work is the implementation of modern digital technologies in the educational process.
