AGROPATH (Advanced Geomatics and Remote Observation for Precision Agriculture in Higher Education) - Modern geomatics and remote sensing for precision agriculture in the context of higher education.
The AGROPATH project aims to modernize the educational, scientific, and material-technical base of universities in the field of precision agriculture, geo-information technologies, remote sensing of the Earth, satellite navigation, and the use of unmanned aerial systems.
Project goal
ImprovementIof geomatics and digital education for precision agriculture in Ukraine and Moldova by modernizing curricula, strengthening institutional capacity, and promoting the development of human resources through individualized training programs for teachers, students, groups affected by war, and rural communities. By developing skills, open educational resources, and international cooperation, the project will contribute to the socio-economic resilience and digital transformation of the agricultural sector in line with EU priorities and the Global Gateway strategy.
Project objectives
- Modernization of curricula in precision agriculture through the integration of geomatics and digital technologies.
- Development of new and modernization of existing modules in geomatics for precision agriculture.
- Strengthening institutional capacity by establishing laboratories for precision agriculture and geomatics and improving existing laboratories.
- Enhancing employment and digital skills for local target groups in Ukraine and Moldova through short-term retraining courses.
- Development of an open-access educational environment that will contain multilingual digital educational materials on geomatics and precision agriculture to ensure long-term accessibility, based on the experience of EU universities.
- Enhancing the competence of teachers through intensive training in EU universities, providing them with knowledge of advanced precision agriculture technologies.
- Promoting student engagement in precision agriculture by organizing seasonal schools and online lectures at EU universities.
- Ensuring wide dissemination of information and long-term impact by engaging stakeholders (academic, industrial, and rural communities) through digital platforms (website, social media, open-access educational environment), supporting knowledge exchange and sustainable use of project results.
