The National University of Water Management and Nature Use, Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation invites scientific and pedagogical staff, higher education seekers, employers, graduates, representatives of governmental bodies, the professional community, and all interested parties to participate in a public discussion of the educational and professional program project "Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy" at the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the specialty I7 "Therapy and Rehabilitation" with specialization I7.1 "Physical Therapy" in the field of knowledge I Health Care and Social Security.
Qualification: Bachelor of Therapy and Rehabilitation with a specialization in "Physical Therapy". Professional qualification: Physical Therapist Assistant.
The purpose of the public discussion is to improve the content of the educational and professional program considering modern trends in the health care, therapy, and rehabilitation sectors, labor market needs, requirements for professionals in physical therapy, as well as principles of academic integrity and quality assurance in higher education.
The OPP project aims to form integral, general, and special (professional) competencies in the field of therapy and rehabilitation among seekers, the application of modern rehabilitation technologies, methods of restoring bodily functions, planning and implementing rehabilitation programs, as well as providing services focused on the needs of the patient/client.
The educational program is developed considering modern challenges in the health care and social security sector, particularly the growing need for restoring the health of the population, the development of the rehabilitation assistance system, the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach, as well as the use of innovative and evidence-based practices that meet international standards and sustainable development goals.
The following aspects of the program are proposed for discussion:
• the relevance of the program and its compliance with modern needs of the health care system, rehabilitation, and labor market;
• the goal, focus, and uniqueness of the educational and professional program;
• list and content of competencies;
• program learning outcomes and their compliance with professional standards and employer requirements;
• structure and logic of the educational process (list of educational components, their sequence, volume of ECTS credits);
• content of academic disciplines, their practical orientation, and interdisciplinary integration;
• organization of practical training (clinical practice, practice bases, collaboration with health care institutions and rehabilitation centers);
• use of modern, evidence-based, and innovative methods of physical therapy and occupational therapy;
• implementation of patient-centered and interdisciplinary approaches in the training of specialists;
• ensuring inclusivity and accessibility of the educational process;
• adherence to the principles of academic integrity and the internal quality assurance system;
• opportunities for academic mobility, international cooperation, and employment of graduates;
• material, technical, personnel, and informational support for the implementation of the program.
